We just purchased a Nutri Ninja blender and love it. I was excited when I saw this book, just at the right time after buying the Ninja. The recipes look easy, the commentary is informative, educational (in a humorous way), and easy to understand. The ONLY problem I have is that the measurements are metric, and having grown up without ever learning how to use any metric measurements, I have a problem figuring out what 1 cm or 350 ml actually mean in real life. It became more of a burden to translate the measurements.I was really looking forward to making some of these smoothies. The book is chaptered according to interests: losing weight, energy boosts, sports drinks, healthy heart, to name a few.
This is more than just a recipe book. It is also like a manual on making smothies. After reading it you have useful information on how to make smoothies, the tools/equipment to use the fruits and veggies to choose. The author goes further and informs the reader on the nutritional benefits of the main ingredient used in each smoothie. She also explains why you should use smoothies instead of other forms of preparing meals and refreshments, and what you should put in them.Also useful are the tips the author provides on a healthy lifestyle. Nothing new but a necessary reminder that food alone does dot a healthy person make. You need a balanced diet, exercise, enough sleep.
