Mary Sue Rosen is a member of the Writing Program faculty of The New School in New York City and Paul Peter Rosen, MD is Emeritus Professor of Pathology at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. Very interesting book. It describes very well the art of the Bozo people. I am very satisfied with this purchase

By Mary Sue Roen and Paul Peter Rosen. Originally priced at $39.99. Published by Schiffer Publishing, 2012.There are some really nice Bamana and Bozo puppets featured in this excellent book on the theater puppets of Mali. Interesting text and concise descriptions of the lovely, (and....yes...."colorful"), puppets of the Sogo Bo puppet theater. In common with most Schiffer books, the quality of the paper, presentation, photographs and binding is superior throughout. In my opinion, this is a very appealing book for any lover of African tribal art.
This book is filled with beautiful color photographs that would be difficult to find elsewhere. Mary Sue Rosen has done an excellent job bringing an better understanding of puppetry in Mali. I'm very happy to have added it to my puppet library.
