My contractor has asked me to make his wife a weighted quilt for Christmas, so I figured I needed to get my hands on some books about the topic. I don't want to make a beautiful quilt just to have the pellets rip it apart. So, I bought this and two other books and am impressed with the information I've learned. This book is well worth the purchase if you're considering making a weighted blanket for someone.
Very clear instructions for beginner as well as advanced. It's also a good introduction to quilting concepts. Each style of blanket, from the simplest to the most advanced, has a chart with stats for all the various sizes you might want to make. That saves a lot of calculating.
This book gave clear instructions for making weighted blankets in a variety of sizes. The book explains exactly how to calculate the amount of plastic pellets to use and how to set up the boxes so the pellets don't shift around. My son loves his, and actually the whole family has been "borrowing" it!

I found the easy to read, but making a blanket with plastic pellets still seems to me to be wrong. I stand by a heavy quilted blanket as being better.

The book is good for patterns to make weighted blankets, but I was looking more for how much weights for certain sizes of the blankets. Not quite what I was looking for.
