The maid-sama series is one of my absolute favorites. All the manga have been amazing to collect in these 2 in 1 editions! Not only is this one of my favorite stories (I don't want to spoil) but it is also beautifully drawn!!! I look forward to the last of the series coming out soon!

~4/5Throughout this volume, Usui's new classmates continue to try and befriend him. It's still rather weird why they're trying, but they are. It doesn't work all that well, because Usui is just not interested. It's nice to see how Misaki reacts around them, too; she doesn't trust them, but she doesn't outright defend Usui, either.Aside from that, a surprise guest from Misaki's past shows up. Here, it's mostly upsetting how her mother lied about what happened, and how that changed Misaki's views so harshly. There's even more tension between Suzuna and Hinata—they better at least get a side story by the end, or I'll be so upset.Misaki gets to see what Usui's school is like, and Usui gets to see what happened with his mother. Usui makes yet another big decision in this volume. In reaction, Misaki gets to decide how she's going to be there for Usui, and it's nice to see how strong their relationship has really become. There are several sweet, short moments between them, and I like seeing them stepping away from the chaos to be together for a moment.I believe the next volume is the last, and I cannot wait to see how it all wraps up.A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. This is an excellent tool, a primer, and resource for those who want to get a concise and informative start in learning about Deaf culture and the beautiful language that is ASL. Each topical chapter progressively develops the reader into an advanced-novice signer, equipping the individual with practical and functional language skills. Though, more than that, the lessons place the language in a historical and cultural context that help the reader to grasp the culture of the Deaf community.I love the fact that the author repeatedly encourages the reader to get involved with their local Deaf community and to take community ASL classes--learning a new language has no merit if one does not interact with the people group that uses it.Again, the lessons are excellent, but the synergistic approach of teaching language along with history and culture is what made this book so remarkable to me. I have longed to find a resource like this for nearly 30 years and I know I will return to it over and over again.

I'm deaf and studying for Memory Loss that could give me remember back to sign language. I felt better a lot because i was isolated and depressed then i order it, hope very much. Delivered a book came here and i was excited to get my memory back to sign language again. This book makes me feel proud of being deaf. It's blessing!

May daughter 10 years old... wants to learn sign language. This is not really kid friendly. She read it but was really skeptical. She was not convinced that she was learning or actually signing correctly. She said she would just YouTube it.

My 9 year old son wanted to learn to sign cause he has a friend who doctors say is going deaf & he doesn't want him to not have anyone to talk to when it happens. He told me his friend would be all alone. So I got on Amazon, ordered this book. After 2 hours of looking at this book he could sign full short sentences. It's easy to follow, great for beginners.

The book has really great information, a lot of good conversation starters. It's super hard to teach sign language properly through a book, since the language is a visual, moving language. But I think this one does a fairly decent job of getting you started and/or reminding you of signs. I've learned a lot from reading it so far.

I borrowed this through the Prime Lending Library, and didn't have to read far before deciding to buy my own copy. It is better on the Fire, but the images are high enough in quality that I can read it on my Kindle keyboard model too.One of the best things is that the book is engaging. The progression of topics is logical, but not dry and linear. Rather than teaching the alphabet and numbers first, then common nouns and verbs, etc., the book intersperses the signs for letters and numbers with ASL history, notes on deaf culture and etiquette, and practical exercises and visualizations. This would be a good textbook for anyone from early middle-school through adult, in home school or even as a family activity just to learn and grow together.

Book is very difficult for younger children to learn from. Too much verbiage describing the sign and not enough actual signs to learn.

This is an incredible book that I used as a text for my American Sign Language Conversation class. This text has easy to understand structure and grammatical face, body & hand expressions lessons with use of classifies, & historical references. In one month of daily use my students were able to communicate expressively and receptievly during field trips to bowl, eat, roller skate and outdoor walks based on the chapters with added vocabulary I now use this text as a Sign Language Consultant.

This is a beautifully organized, clearly written reference guide targeted towards beginners that know very little about JavaScript and may not of even heard of jQuery. Not to fear, you will understand in great detail when you are finished with this book. In terms of what is new in edition 3 (over 2nd edition): There are about 100 new pages that mainly focus on jQuery plugins, pJSON with Google Maps and Flickr, and an expansion of the trouble-shooting and debugging. Perhaps not enough if you already have the 2nd edition, but it is wonderful that McFarland keeps revising this classic to ensure that it is relevant and timely.

This is one of the best reference book I have ever read and have used since I purchased it. I bought the book for a night class I was taking to improve my knowledge of web development and JavaScript and I learned so much from this book The examples and companion scripts are easy to follow and can be used for creativity. I love this book because it doesn't contain tons of filler. The book just gets straight to the point of learning JavaScript and JQuery. There are so many crucial chapters in this book that fully explains variables, conditional statements , methods , loops, breaks and functions. The book provides detailed lessons in jQuery including learning about the various methods and events along effectively use the jQuery widgets Before I used this book, I knew some JavaScript plus CSS and HTML5. Now I have clear understanding(not a master) of JavaScript and jQuery which makes me one step closer to my ultimate goal to learn the intricacies of the MEAN stack. Buy this book today

Loved the way, this book is written. If you want to learn javascript and jquery quickly, and if you just have time to read only one book, THIS IS THE BOOK.Author generously explained the basic concepts so well, which may take months to learn elsewhere. For example, why a variable is named with $ prefix, what benefits you gain, I dont think it is explained so well elsewhere. Author never failed to explain each such unique things about javascriptIt covers the fundamentals well, at the same time, covers practical code for real-life apps.I am lucky to get hold of a hardcopy. Planning to read it atleast 3 times.Even though I am a solid java programmer, reading this book made me understand the differences in javascript way of programming.Must for beginner to advanced programmers (not for advanced javascript experts)

Seriously the best book on the subject(s). I finally undertand how this stuff works- and I can fall in love again with Javascript (I learned it years ago, then it went out of favor and I didnt use it much for a long time, then came back in and couldnt get modern Javascript and how it all worked with jQuery, Ajax and Jason . Wasnt my first try, either for any of them in the last couple of years- third or fourth for most.This book made it all make sense interweaving theory, syntax and practical application (what, how and why). Only teaching I found with all three.

I've worked with web pages for over a decade. I became curious about jQuery and selected this book. It helped me jump right in to jQuery and helped me gain a deeper understanding of JavaScript. I like reference type books and have been pleased with the hand-full of Missing Manual books I've purchased. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Made a 116% in my Web Scripting course. This book was not required by the professor but required by the University. I found so much in this that I was able to crank out assignments with much more quality than others in the course. The professor took notice too.Although it did not discuss bootstrap, I learned so much that I was able to teach myself bootstrap by the end of the quarter (2 weeks). Great book.

This is turning out to be a better book than I expected. The book covers information in a clear way and provides good examples. I haven't used the tutorials yet but I will. This book will help clear up some questions I had while using another book for learning JavScript and JQuery.I really like this book.

As an ultra-"crunchy" mama of 5, I consider this book to be made for those who dabble in alternative/natural "medicine", not for those who deeply trust in their spiritual and physical bodies. The wording was a bit harsh at times, intimidating, and even fear-promoting. Personally, I felt the recommendations were often too mainstream and entrenched in Western Medicine. I have a collection of over 50 natural birth books, and this is by far my least favorite.

My goodness. This book is AWESOME. When I was prepping to have my first baby I wanted to approach the process more naturally, but had a hard time finding reliable information on my options. Every book I looked into offered only conventional methods. On the flip side, the resources for a natural approach (mostly online) lacked the science and evidence based research I craved. I had to look in a ton a different places to try to find what I was looking for...and didn't know who or what to trust! Now, with my second baby, I feel more empowered in my education and decisions...but it wasn't easy to get there. (This book arrived about a month after my second little bundle, but being the baby junkie that I am I had to get my hands on it ASAP!)This book is extensively informational, and offers well researched information for every approach to pregnancy and labor. It lists the options, facts, possible risks, and benefits for every detail of the process. I truly feel it's the *perfect* book for EVERY MAMA TO BE--weather you lean natural or not--because information and options = power!I love this book so much that I even ordered a few copies to gift and share with others! <3 :]

I'm a mom of three, a doula and a childbirth educator, and when I found out that Mama Natural was coming out with a pregnancy and childbirth guide, I was beyond excited. I KNEW this would be amazing and after receiving the book, I was right! The first thing you'll notice are the beautiful illustrations that draw your eye in to the page. I love that Genevieve included recipes in each chapter and other helpful tips for a pregnant mom. The most important part is the information, though. This book is packed full so that you can understand your pregnancy week by week and also make informed decisions for the birth YOU want. There are sections on natural birth, interventions you can expect during labor, support for VBAC moms and also how to get that gentle cesarean you might want. She leaves no one behind.This book is perfect for the new mom who is just venturing into the world of pregnancy and childbirth, and also for the seasoned mother who might want to change her outcome. It has a natural point of view for a natural process and empowers women. We CAN give birth how we want.**I received this book in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.**

My first run-in with Mama Natural took place on Pinterest. We’ll call it an e-meeting of sorts. I’m always pinning useful information for later and Mama Natural has LOTS of it!Prior to reviewing this book, I completed the Mama Natural Birth Course as part of my Doula Certification work and it is also– AMAZINGFirst and foremost, I love rich color and an easy to read text— this book had all of that.Secondly, It has great illustrations— and not just the typical diagrams you wouldexpect to see in a pregnancy planning book. There are illustrations of the author and her spouse, example mothers, some of the diagrams you would expect, and even illustrations of sample meals that one might try to prepare to switch up their weekly routine. I would also like to highlight here that the images are drawn illustrations– not just photographs (though I’m not opposed to photos)– that gave it a really personal touch to me. If you read a good number of these books, you become accstomed to seeing certain photos and images and this was a nice change of pace.It includes a week-by-week guide to pregnancy and childbirth from a natural perspective. I shared a bit of my personal testimony of wanting to eliminate as many commercial medications and medical interventions as possible in one of my older posts. It is important to me that I seek out knowledge to prepare myself for a natural pregnancy and to support my friends and family who are currently having babies and who desire to do so naturally. KNOWLEDGE is POWER!Her week-by-week tips include some of the most practical and helpful information I’ve seen. It was like having all of the best Pinterst Pins in one place! There are recipes, affirmations, and useful tips — like how to use your existing wardrobe throughout pregnancy and when/how to decide if any items are worth adding to your collection.The book doesn’t stop at the week-by-week tips and advice for during pregnancy, it also includes labor and post partum and one part that I thought was very important was that pregnancy loss was included. As someone who is both a trained Social Worker and Doula, I understand that loss and post partum symptoms are often two big “elephants in the room.” Many are uncomfortable with discussing with them and if a mother experiences either (or both) she can be left feeling isolated and with no recourse. One of the greatest way to overcome the stigma is to talk about these issues— these births matter and mothers who experience post partum symptoms (baby blues, depression, etc.) are not alone and are STILL good mothers!I’ll stop there, before I get all the way up on my soapbox.Long story short, I really love this book.I purchased a Kindle copy for my personal use and will definitely be buying others to give away as gifts– it’s just THAT awesome!I highly recommend that you add it to your collection if you’re in the market for this type of book. It could also make a great gift for soon-to-be or future mothers in your life.

I wanted to like this book so much! It’s definitely not a week-by-week guide. There’s barely two paragraphs on what’s happening on certain weeks. I’m going to admit I’m only on week 6 and will continue reading but honestly I’ve skipped over a lot because of her condescending tone and attitude towards women that may want to have their babies the traditional, medical way in a hospital. She briefly gives her explanation of “benefits” of giving birth in hospitals however it always ends in a “but...”I was expecting more natural health remedies for pregnancy symptoms, diet, organic products for stretch marks and things like that. Maybe I should have started with the typical “What to expect when you’re expecting”.

I was forced to use this textbook for the relational DB section of a database systems class. It always annoys me that some of the professors don't even read the reviews or content of the book itself before using one for class. The presentation wasn't clear and there were just too much information thrown at once for someone who's just learning database systems. A lot of authors and professors alike think that throwing all the information at students is the best way to teach when it's exactly the opposite. Especially for new comers, people need simplified and systematic approach to learning the new material, which, in my opinion, this textbook did rather poor job of.If you are stuck with this textbook, I'd highly highly recommend getting another reference textbook that contains better explanation and maybe use some of the examples in this text as review. I used another database systems textbook written out by Jukic and it worked out for me.Cheers

Author(s) overcomplicate a fairly simple subject and employ long-windedness to deter budding IT professionals from edging in on their game. This book is a beautiful example of prolixity.

This book pretty much covers it all, and from beginners to advanced it has a lot of content.

This book will make you hate SQL. The authors make the subject unnecessarily complicated. They are very hard to follow in their explanations and go all over the place. The intended audience for this book is not noobs but people who have many years of experience in SQL but with some knowledge gaps or are looking for a refresher.

The book is good, however the Kindle reader is the worst program I have ever used. Get stressed easily? Spend the extra money and get the hardcover, because the Kindle reader is absolute garbage.

About the Author

Paul L. Wachtel, PhD, is CUNY Distinguished Professor in the doctoral program in clinical psychology at City College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Yale University and is a graduate of the postdoctoral program in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy at New York University, where he is also a faculty member. Dr. Wachtel has lectured and given workshops throughout the world on psychotherapy, personality theory, and the applications of psychological theory and research to the major social issues of our time. He has been a leading voice for integrative thinking in the human sciences and was a cofounder of the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration. Dr. Wachtel is a recipient of the Hans H. Strupp Memorial Award for psychoanalytic writing, teaching, and research; the Distinguished Psychologist Award from Division 29 (Psychotherapy) of the American Psychological Association (APA); and the Scholarship and Research Award from Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) of APA.

Simply one of the best books I've ever read on the topic of psychotherapy. It gently leads clinicians into new ways of speaking which benefit their clients. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Great book for any future clinician. Helpful in building strong therapist-client relationships and just useful in improving one's own interpersonal communication skills and improving personal relationships. Excellent resource!

Besides working out in the field, the best way to learn the nuts and bolts of psychotherapy is through this book. Wachtel is a gripping writer, no small compliment for the author of a textbook. And when you finish enjoying the ride, you will own the whys and hows of the most fascinating profession.

One of the best books I've ever read about doing psychotherapy. You don't have to be an analyst to appreciate and benefit from it. And a clear differentiation of the contemporary relational model from classical psychoanalysis.

A must-have for all counselors or any one in the helping profession. I purchased the e-copy and read it whenever I have spare time.

I found this book helpful as a new clinician. My only problem is that it becomes repetitive about half way through the book.
