It was to be expected that I absolutely love this book; I have been an avid fan of Scott Gustafson's work for years now. I could go on and on about the lovely selection of stories, interesting characters, beautiful environments and luscious colors... and all that would be reason enough to buy this book. But the truly exciting feature of Scott's work comes from all these wonderful qualities combined: the suspension of disbelief. As fantastical as all these tales are, for the duration of the bedtime story, they become real. Tangible, almost. I've had some delicious cake with mice, lost a green umbrella to a tiger, and suddenly found myself far closer to a giant ogre than any person in his right mind would dare to tread... Another brilliant book!

Beautifully made, heirloom quality book. The pictures are bright and detailed and has many layers for enjoyment by young and old alike. The stories are familiar and eloquently portrayed. I bought this for my grandson's 1st birthday so maybe one day it will be handed down to his grandchildren.

The stories in this book are well written and don’t just cover the basics like many children’s books. But the reason I’m giving the book a full five stars is because of the enchantingly gorgeous artwork presented on almost every page. The kids love that they get a long detailed bedtime story with artwork that really transports them into the story. I love only having to read one story a night instead of six short ones!

Gustafson is the premier painter of wonderful, evocative, realistic illustrations of children's stories. Adults will enjoy looking at the pictures every bit as much as children do. And the retelling of each story is better than adequate. A gorgeous gift for families with young children - or for people who simply love the best of illustrative art.

Do not buy if you use the app! If you use the app, Not only was the front small, the words are scrunched/overlapping making it impossible to read, even when you use the double tap to enlarge feature. I haven’t tried to read this on the kindle cloud reader yet, so I am not sure how that interface fares/looks. But the text is fine on my kindle, hence the three stars, it doesn’t work across all the kindle types. I used my kindle fire, so I am uncertain how the other kindle devices handle this book and its features.

I can (and often do) just sit and pore over Scott Gustafson's artwork. The stories may be bedtime stories, but the beautiful illustrations will keep you up really late.

I've been keen on Arthurian Literature lately and wanted to know more about it. Until I found this book I hadn't seen one that covered what I wanted. As far as I'm concerned this is the best book on Arthurian Literature there is.Please note however:VERY SMALL TYPE. It's seven or eight point type.I'm referring to the paperback edition. I don't know if the hardcover is the same.

Excelent. I have been studying King Arthur for Masters and the book is complete and it's a wonderful helping.

Kinda makes me sad that someone took what must have been a life time to map out all the intricacies, layers, and webs of this 1500 year old tradition...but thanks. It is an invaluable resource for Arturiana geeks (esp. for those who--ah, like me, to be honest--think they already know it pretty well).

This book is a great value. Extremely well organized and indexed for a book that covers this much ground. There are certainly books out there that treat the topic in more depth, but this is a good starting point for research. The glossary alone is (which is referenced to the main text) is worth the price of the book.

Chris and J are so endearing, that I just wanted to hug the stuffing out of them. I like the way they support each other emotionally and physically. Their interactions and banter are rich with humor and snark. I'm not sure whom I dislike more- Tina and S/O or Fran. Tina and S/O are just ignorant, uninformed, idiots. Who hides in their house from their own child???Really!! Fran has no sense of decency or boundaries. She seems to be using the boys' relationship for her own private peep show and takes advantage non stop. Friends don't do that! User- loser! Sociopathic behavior.I liked seeing how the boys were adjusting and handling new experiences in this phase of their lives. Lots of personal growth, maturity, and integrity. Love them and look forward to more.

It is everything that I look for in a fiction novel, but do not often find. Christopher and Jeremy are refreshingly imperfect but lovable. The character development in this installment is everything that I hoped for, after falling in love with the start of their story. The author also added depth to other supporting characters, such as Bessie, Dennis, Frances and Clifton. This two-book series is unapologetic, sexy, honest, funny, well-paced and (mostly)relatable. I hope to read more from this author and/or series in the future.

I was so excited when I checked and saw this book had come out. I immediately put down the book I was reading so I could start this one. It did not disappoint! Everything I loved about Chris and Jeremy in the first book I love just as much in this one. They have grown into their own and in their relati onship, they just make me smile. I've lost count how many times I've read Crossing Swords, I know I'll be reading Sword Fight again. I'm hoping, fingers crossed, this won't be the last time we see Chris and J.

I really can't say enough good things about this author.J and Chris have turned into two of my favorite "not quite gay" characters. I have belly laughed, snorted, rolled my eyes and felt my heart pinch throughout this book ... Which by the way is just as ridiculously perfect as the first Crossing Swords.The flawless writing and tight editing is cream on the top of this banana split.

Yay! I've been waiting for this book for a long time, and it exceeded my expectations. There is a freshness and realness to the dialogue that is not found in many other mm books, and the journey of the main characters is poignant and rings true. All in all, a highly recommended read. Plus, it's hot! What more could you want? Oh, and there's humor, too! So much better than the run-of-the-mill mm romance. Kudos to the author!

A very thoughtful book, that goes well beyond the financial into life strategies, which I think is both essential and very appropriate. As a professional investor, who presumably should have all of his ducks in a row, I have to admit there were several points in there that made me wince as I am not doing as good a job as I could and should. A helpful and detailed program, laid out in an easy to read style, and one I recommend.

This is a great book! It is the perfect introduction for younger people into the reality of personal financial management written with clear objectives and pragmatic reasoning by a finance expert. Whether a novice or veteran in finance, 'Financial Reset' offers great tips and advice needed for everyone hoping to have their money work for them and not the other way around.

I found this book to be an excellent and easy-to-digest read. It contains a lot of sound advice, and many opportunities for you to think through your spending and saving habits. I've certainly adjusted my approach to saving because of this book. I feel that, if you read this book through and actually act on the advice, you'll be able to greatly improve your financial state.

Jack Reacher is kidnapped along with an FBI agent, and as a result, infiltrates a radical militia group and saves the day, thwarting the plans of the insane militia leader. If you know Jack Reacher, you know that he overcomes impossible odds, outwits the cleverest foes, shoots like the best marksmen, and manages to hook up with the most beautiful women. So it won't surprise you that he does all that in more in Die Trying.Even after reading only two Jack Reacher books and seeing the movie Jack Reacher, I am coming to see Lee Child's formula. But just because something is formulaic doesn't mean it doesn't work. Child puts together a somewhat implausible plot with Reacher's quite expertise and determination to create a page-turner. The action is well-written, with lots of technical and strategic detail. The Montana Militia theme seems sort of dated, even though this was just published in 1998. Are those guys still around? And does Child unfairly depict them as sociopathic megalomaniacs? Well, it is fiction after all.Pick up Die Trying, or any Reacher novel for that matter, for a fun-to-read, action packed tough guy novel. A guaranteed testosterone boost.

So I am definitely very late to the Jack Reacher universe and just getting around to discovering Lee Child’s novels. I’ve avoided this genre for years as they all seemed kind of formulaic to me. A former military guy who suffers personal loss, has a level of PTSD, drops off the grid and fate puts him in often outlandish situations where he gets to be a hero again. In “Die Trying” which is the second book in this long running series we pick up with Jack Reacher the highly decorated former army Military Police major who has voluntarily separated from the service and essentially has become a rootless drifter. He gets caught up in a kidnapping of a woman picking up her dry cleaning on a busy city street and is abducted as well. Wrong place, wrong time Reacher now has to use his considerable skills to try to get them out alive. Who is the woman, why was she taken? More is revealed when they arrive at their destination in a remote Montana camp and they discover that they’re prisoners of a deranged militia leader and his devoted army of followers. It doesn’t sound very promising but in Child’s hands the 500+ pages fly by and the cliché “can’t put it down” definitely applies. Some of the plot’s more than a bit farfetched but you really get sucked in. Child does make a few technical errors when describing firearms which are surprising given his detailed descriptions of ballistics and the physics of how ammunition works. For instance early on when the couple are kidnapped one of the bad guys points a Glock 17 pistol at him. We than learn Reacher is very familiar with the Glock since while on active duty he was supposedly part of the evaluation team for the Army in selecting a new handgun. First he repeatedly calls semi-automatic pistols “automatics” which is a common mistake authors make. Then he mentions the Glock having the safety off which is wrong as the Glock has no external safety mechanism to be switched off or on. Later on when describing a Barrett Model 90 sniper rifle Child says it is a “50-inch” when he means .50 caliber. A battleship has a 16 inch gun so a 50 inch gun would be really a handful, even for a stud like Reacher. Nitpicking aside “Die Trying” is a great read; 4.5 stars and highly recommended. I just picked up another 5 more and will read the entire series.

The second Reacher adventure, and as usual, pretty gripping stuff. Reacher is in the wroung place when an FBI Agent is kidnapped by extremists-no more information I don,t want to spoil your reading of the lengthy events that follow. Reacher is an ex-MP who spent a fair chunk of his life in the military and as a consequence has acquired a number of useful skills which you and I will never need, but which are a great help in dealing with the ever present bad guys.I don't mind admitting that I've read literally hundreds of books since I got a Kindle-mainly because living in the Czech Republic does limit the choice available in English language .I've got plenty of favourites and Lee Child's books are near the top of my ' to buy' list. Cost does come into the equation-sometimes one has to wait for the cost to subside. This was around eight dollars-ok by me. It's quite a lengthy read, so value for pleasure!

Please know I am a big fan of Lee Child and his Jack Reacher books, but I just didn't like this one. I didn't like the story, I didn't like the other characters, I thought it was too long and drawn out and worse, I had to force myself to finish reading it, which is something I had never done with all the other Reacher books. I must say out of all the Reacher books I have read so far, which were not in release order, I'm glad I didn't start out reading this one as it might have turned me off from the rest which knowing how much I really enjoy the other ones I've read, would have been a shame. I bought this as a package deal with the 1st and 3rd books so I could start at the beginning but I just couldn't get into this particular one. It's not going to deter me from reading all of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books though.

This guide is packed with information about visiting Pennsylvania. For a huge state, it's hard to believe that there isn't another travel guide for the whole state. This is the one! It has tons of info about Philly and Pittsburgh, and everything in between and top to bottom. The author is one of Philly's top writers and editors and she spent months traveling the state to write this book. My husband and I have been travelling to the Wellsboro area for decades and it's hard to believe, but we found new things to do there in the book. This would be a great gift for any Pennsylvanian and anyone who enjoys exploring both cities and the roads less traveled.

Very comprehensive. It gives great insights into not only the more popular and well known sights but also the lesser known but equally as interesting and worthwhile destinations. Highly recommended to anyone planning to travel to Pennsylvania and even locals looking to get to know their own area better.

This book has great restaurant suggestions all over the state. I live in Philadelphia and it's been a nice resource to plan little weekend trips outside the city. Based on the author's picks in Philly, I'm looking forward to try attractions and restaurants throughout Pennsylvania.

Easy to follow, great recommendations, seems comprehensive and definitely worth having as a travel guide.
