great book for anyone interested in architecture and energy a must read!

This is a welcomed variant in the MIT series "Writing Architecture" whose other tomes are, for the most part, examples of postmodernistic self-emphatuated drivel! Fernandez-Galiano instead takes up the theme of Energy and Entropy in Architecture and he does so with considerable skill and rare insight. His choice of illustrations alone is worth the price of the book! However his grasp of Physics and its History is quite sophomoric and hampered by his reliance on secondary, contentious and dubious sources, such as Morin, Rifkin and Georgescu-Roentgen. His recounting of Thermodynamics as an ideological contest between "mechanistic and organismic" schools mascarades the actual facts of this interesting history which he largely mishandles (he should read Maxwell, Helmholtz, Gibbs and Planck instead. And Boltzmann too, of whom he only mentions the suicide)! Much of his references to the interesting ideas of Prigogine is also marginal at best! On the side of architecture proper he misses the very crucial appraisals by authors such as Mumford, Giedion, Tuan and Mitchell which cover much of his territory. Yet this is a book stll makes better reading than about anything on this subject, (mostly because there is so little written on this worthy subject)!

A very dense and stimulating read. One-third of the book is footnotes & references, so it takes a while to grasp just an entire paragraph. But if you like to be ultimately challenged, pick this book up. From caveman to modern man, this book explains how energy (Fire) has evolved through architecture & influenced the way we perceive & use that space (Memory). Also-using two of the most prominent architects: FLW & Corbu, it compares & contrasts the internal & external energy of architecture. Utilizing the laws of thermodynamics, it speaks about architecture alongside an inevitable process of the universe: entropy.

I liked this book. I would recommend this book to my friend Maddie because she loves the color yellow. I rate 5 stars because it is funny and cute!!!;) LOL!!!;)

That made Patrick sad because he loved all colors in the world around him, especially yellow. But all leprechauns in his school wore green, and that was just the way it had to be.One day at recess, Patrick observed a beautiful rainbow; he decided to go off into the forest to try to find that beautiful yellow pot of gold that was rumored to be at its end. Soon his teacher and the whole community of leprechauns began to worry. Will Patrick find his pot of gold? Is he going to be in trouble with the adults?The story has a surprise ending that will affect Patrick, the leprechauns, and his family. Delightful bedtime story that teaches children rules do not have to be arbitrary and that children and parents can learn to follow their heart. Perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the family, preschoolers and primary grade children.

In this story youngsters will discover that passion can be good and bad. Patrick is a leprechaun who discovers colors and finds one most fascinating, yellow. The color yellow stands out in everyday things in Patrick's eyes. He eventual goes on an adventure so lost in exploring that he loses time and responsibility which comes together in the end.This picture book/beginning reader has illustrations which complements the tale. Parents should have a conversation about the full meaning of the story while answering questions that the youngsters may have.

This is a really cute story about a little Leprechaun who loves ALL the colors, not just green, with yellow being his very favorite. He wishes he could wear yellow sometimes, not just green. But his mom says no, Leprechauns must wear green. By the end of the book, after the little Leprechaun wanders off and the mom is reminded of how dear he is to her, she does what will make his heart happiest and gives him a yellow outfit. The story is engaging and holds the kids' interest and, of course, who doesn't want to find a dog at the end of the rainbow? When I read this to the kids, we do discuss how that was dangerous for him to wander off and we are glad it turned out okay. I love the whimsical drawings in this book. They, along with the story, are fun, light, and hold the interest.

Cute story for kids. I have twin boys who are almost 4, and they loved the story about the Little Leprechaun. They have a very Irish last name, so they love just about anything with Ireland! The illustrations are bright and fun, and the story flows nicely and is easy to understand and interesting for little ones. Great book to buy around St. Paddy's day!

I loved this sweet little book with a big message. For me the message whether you are a child or adult, is listening to your "inner voice" that always knows what's true for you. This little guy just intuitively knew green wasn't for him. It led him on a search for what truly made his heart sing. And being an only child, I was heartened that he found a friend to share his life and adventures when he went in search of the fabled "Yellow Gold" again following his heart. I like this little boy with his healthy rebelliousness, finding his own voice, not being afraid of being different. He had a very wise mother who "allowed" him to buck the leprechaun system of wearing green and wear what made him happy. In this story there are lots of things to learn for children and parents.

Patrick, a leprechaun, had to wear Green which made him unhappy because he loved all colors but YELLOW was his favorite. One day during school recess he saw a rainbow and knew there should be a pot of gold at the end of it! So he went off to find the end of it and especially the pot of gold at the end of this rainbow! What he found is truly a treasure to every little person --- a lovely rhyming, colorful illustrated story for everyone!

What a cute story about following your heart and doing what truly makes you happy. My son and I read this story tonight as his bedtime story. It was a quick and easy read that we both enjoyed.

If you like single dad romances, you will enjoy this book. The characters are interesting, well-developed and have chemistry. The story is interesting, well-written with a happily ever after. In addition to receiving an arc, I purchased the book for my collection.

I must admit this new book by Mia Ford started off hot out of the gates for me but by mid-book I was really struggling and was at five star by the end again. There’s Libby, a recovering cancer patient with a boat load of debt to a loan shark so that she could pay her bills and open a preschool. That’s where Mason Savage’s son Toby attends school, and where Mason has taken an interest in this vibrant woman. The storyline was one I’ve never encountered before in a romance book,with a loan shark seeking revenge for an unpaid loan, a Mafia war,a widower with insta-love fir the preschool admin, hot chemiastry and abductions. there was just too much going on for me and I struggled to get to the end. The sweet romance between Mason and Libby at the end and his adorable son Toby helped to redeem the book for me. This just wasn’t the warm feels that a Mia Ford book leaves me with.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Dream Warrior: Dark Warrior Alliance Book 1by Brenda Trim,‎ Tami Julka⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️WOW! I have been looking forward to reading a book from these two authors, Brenda Trim,‎ & Tami Julka. I hate to say it but I got this book a year ago but I haven't had time to read them then I just decided let me read this book it's been on my TBR list too long. I need to say this I wanted to kick myself because I let a awesome book sit on my TBR list and I could have been caught up with the series. This is a great book to read. I enjoyed the way this couple seem to have been meant for each other. This is Zander Tarakesh and Elsie Hayes story. Zander is a sexy vampire king, he is battle hardened but so accustomed to leading and commanding in battle. Elsie is a mortal who has no idea she is Zander's fated mate because she isn't over the vicious murder of her husband Dalton. What a great vampire romance with a few twists on the vampire realm. I really enjoyed the Vamprie world that these two authors created. The chemistry between the main characters are exciting, compelling and romantic. Zander and Elsie were burns up the pages which made this all the more enjoyable for the first book of Dark Warrior. I must tell you that there is a cliffhanger at the end, so if you don't like a cliffhanger after reading this book you may change your mind. Now I going to read the next book in the series. I'm so happy to say better late than never. I really enjoyed reading this book. I'm a hopeless romantic and this book gave me romance and so much more. This is a Fantastic Book it's scorching hot, sexy, it has violence with attitudes. If this is not the kind of stuff you like to read, skip this book. However, if you're a fan of all things naughty, sexual tension, action and humor, this is perfect for you. Enjoy! I'm so excited about reading the next book in this series. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. If you have it on your TBR list it needs to be changed to be on your must read list.

Wonderfully thought out, creative writing, and personable, loveable characters. I am so amazed at the way I was drawn in to each of there lives by the skillfully woven backgrounds this author stitched together flawlessly. I loved it!The length of the book is great, at 600 pages it has enough room to develop characters, a great story line, details to keep it interesting, and twists and turns to keep you on your toes.It has love, romance, and sex but it doesn't depend upon that to try to keep your interest, the story line of the book is developed to keep you reading. All the drama, fear, uncertainty, dread, torment and intrigue increases while tension spirals as the plot thickens. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises that make for one incredible experience. The characters are complex and believable with such depth and individuality it's easy to relate. I am not sure which one I liked the most, but I think I liked the last one the least. It wouldn't make any sense for the world to continue revolving with such a wicked individual as Beatrice, getting away with everything. She was extremely abusive. That wouldn't have been tolerated to the extent it was described in the story. Anyhow, I can't say I'd recommended these. There are other Regency stories that aren't so convoluted. But read others' reviews. Maybe someone else liked the stories more than I did. I would definitely recommend reading several reviews, both ends of the spectrum.

Time to fall in love with three great Dukes and their ladies in this collection of wonderful tales. I was immediately drawn into the first story about a forced marriage to the scarred monster in her rendition of beauty and the beast. He was gentle, sweet, had a sense of humor, and a tragic tale that drove him in desperation into an arranged marriage. But he was a quality individual much like his bride and you root for them with hope and great interest in the details and imagery. Then in book 2 and 3...more delightful characters. You will enjoy this collection!

A well-written boxed set of clean Historical Regency books I enjoyed reading the books and will be reading them again at a later time. I could not say which one was my favorite as they all have their own merits making each story one I was not putting down until it was finished.

Friendship, familial drama, a twist or two thrown in for good measure, and a touch of intrigue are woven into descriptive tales of romance. A trio of sweet, slow burn regency romances, that have a nice HEA. I already own the books in this set.

Honestly, Beauty for the Scarred Duke was my favorite of all the books in this set. I loved it. I enjoyed all the rest of them as well. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.

These books were great as stand alone stories, but as a collection... gift worthy even!I’ve always enjoyed Bridget’s clean cut stories -that I can share with all my ladies, young and “perpetually 29” alike!
